Russian Federation to increase financing of preferential car loans program
Financing of preferential car loans and leasing programs in 2026-2028 is planned in the amount of 164 billion rubles. This was stated by Albert Karimov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, at a round table in the Federation Council, TASS reported on November 25. At the same time, it was previously planned to allocate 115 billion rubles for these purposes over the next three years.
According to Karimov, next year about 20 billion rubles will be allocated for preferential car loans, and 30 billion rubles for preferential leasing. As follows from the words of the deputy minister, financing of the preferential leasing program in 2026 will be increased from 17 billion to 30 billion rubles.
In total, over the period from January to October 2025, more than 163 thousand cars were sold under both programs, the amount of discounts amounted to about 52 billion rubles. Of these, more than 113 thousand cars sold are Lada cars.
In July 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade resumed the program of preferential car loans. According to it, doctors, teachers, members of their families and their families can purchase cars with a 20% discount, residents of the Far Eastern regions — 25%. The Family Car subprogram allows you to buy a domestic car with a 10% discount. According to the program, you can purchase only a number of models that gain a certain level of localization.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that at the end of 2025 or in the first half of next year, 28% of Russians surveyed plan to buy a car on credit. Over the past six months (compared to the survey conducted in the spring), the number of such respondents has increased by 4 percentage points.
