Producer Razin faces up to 10 years in prison in a fraud case.
Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov said that the producer of "Tender May" Andrei Razin faces up to 10 years in prison for fraud on a particularly large scale.
"Fraud is a form of embezzlement, it is not an economic crime, but an ordinary crime. Theft of other people's property or acquisition of the right to other people's property by deception or abuse of trust, committed on a particularly large scale (over 1 million rubles), is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years with a fine of up to 1 million rubles," Solovyov said in an interview with aif.ru on Tuesday, November 25th.
Investigators of the capital's Interior Ministry charged Razin in absentia with fraud on a particularly large scale in relation to the funds of the poet Sergei Kuznetsov. The producer is on the international wanted list. According to a number of sources, he may be in Turkey. The day before, there were reports that he may be hiding from the investigation in the United States.
On November 24, the lawyer of Yuri Shatunov's family, Assel Mukhtarova-Kazarnovskaya, previously clarified that the case against Razin was initiated back in 2021. According to her, we are talking about funds that should have been paid to Kuznetsov as royalties for the use of his lyrics in the songs of "Tender May."
The poet's widow was recognized as a victim in the case. According to the investigation, Razin had been presenting a fake contract with Kuznetsov for a long time, posing as the copyright holder of the band's musical works.
