Since the beginning of 2025, 73.5 kg of illegal products have been seized and destroyed in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. This was announced on November 24 by the North-Western Interregional Rosselkhoznadzor Department.

It is specified that products of animal and plant origin imported into the country from European countries, including the Baltic States, were most often subject to disposal. According to RBC, since 2015, a total of 509.6 tons of such products have been burned.

It is noted that among the destroyed products were cheeses, dairy and meat products, fruits and vegetables, as well as seafood, including fish and caviar.

Earlier, on October 6, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow blocked a website with ads for the sale of sanctioned products. It was clarified that, among other products, users of the Network were offered to buy cheeses, including parmesan. All products presented on the website were banned from importation into the Russian Federation and were supplied from countries that support anti-Russian sanctions. It was clarified that for the illegal transportation of goods across the border of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) And Russia provides for administrative liability.
