Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on November 25 that the UN's refusal to provide data on the incident in Bucha was tantamount to a confession and was a "disgrace" to the organization.

"I won't even comment on it. It's a disgrace for an Organization that will publish any facts when it needs to. Hiding the names of those whose corpses have already been used for provocation is a confession," he said in an interview with the YouTube channel of the Franco-Russian Dialogue Association, published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Minister outlined in detail the chronology of the events in Bucha, noting that Russian troops had left the village two days before the video footage of the bodies appeared. He drew attention to inconsistencies in the presented footage, including the clean clothes on the dead during the spring slush and the careful arrangement of the bodies along the central street.

Lavrov said that he personally addressed the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres during the annual sessions of the General Assembly, but was refused on the pretext of protecting confidential information. The minister stressed that such a position discredits an organization that publishes other data when it suits its interests.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also criticized the Western media for creating Russophobic materials without evidence and expressed Russia's readiness for dialogue with representatives of the United Nations and the Red Cross. However, according to him, international organizations shy away from discussing specific facts on Ukrainian issues.

On September 27, Sergey Lavrov expressed surprise that none of the Western journalists were trying to find out the details of the incident in the Ukrainian city of Bucha. He noted that Russia had asked at least to publish the names of those whose bodies were shown on the BBC, but the lawyers of the secretariat ruled that it was inappropriate to disclose information about the victims in Bucha in order to ensure the safety of their relatives.
