The athlete also stressed that the Russian and Soviet boxing schools remain among the strongest in the world, noting the high level of training of athletes.
"Soviet or Russian boxing is one of the best in the world, probably the best. These guys train hard, and when you go up against them, you have to understand where you are," he said.
Speaking about his rival Alexei Papin, the athlete emphasized respect for him and noted that for a fight with representatives of this school it is necessary to be ready both physically and psychologically.
The 38-year-old Papin's fight with Cameroonian Rolly Lambert Fogum will take place as part of the REN TV Fight Club tournament in Vologda on November 28. Papin is an international master of sports, an absolute world champion in kickboxing and a former IBF International champion.
