Grain harvesting completed in the Trans-Baikal Territory

The harvesting campaign has ended in the fields of the Trans-Baikal Territory. Farmers harvested 25% more grain than in 2024.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, farms of all categories have threshed 126 thousand tons of grain. This is 30 thousand tons more than last year. The area of crops was 70 thousand hectares. The average yield exceeded last year's figure and reached 18 quintals per hectare.

Farmers harvested the most oats — 56.7 thousand tons. In addition, 53.4 thousand tons of wheat were harvested, as well as 7.5 thousand tons of buckwheat.

More than 72% of crops in Transbaikalia were insured for the 2025 harvest. An emergency mode was declared in several municipalities due to the fact that the wet snow slowed down the harvesting campaign.
