- The developer of the Atom electric car received a certificate for a semi-automatic pilot
JSC Kama, the developer of the Atom electric vehicle, became the first company in Russia among automakers and developers of autonomous technologies for cars to receive the ASIL D certificate of conformity according to the international standard ISO 26262. According to the company's statement, which was received by Izvestia on November 25, ASIL D is the maximum level of functional safety of electronic vehicle systems.

The company said that this is an important milestone on the way to creating a mass-produced autonomous car. The certificate obtained demonstrates the company's ability to develop systems of any level of autonomy, from driver assistance systems to fully autonomous vehicles, the Kama press service said.

This will allow the manufacturer to supply software, hardware and software systems and their individual components for production vehicles to third-party customers on the global market. The developments of Kama JSC can be used in elements of intelligent transport systems (ITS) and become part of smart cities, the company added.
Earlier, on September 29, it was reported that the start of serial production of Atom electric vehicles in Russia is expected before the end of the year, and the cost of the car will be 3-4 million rubles. The number of pre-orders for the model exceeded 105 thousand units.

Prior to that, on September 26, it became known that Atom had passed certification and received Vehicle Type Approval, which allows it to begin mass production and sales of the model in Russia. The certificate includes two versions — the basic version and the taxi version, which is characterized by the absence of a front passenger seat.
