Tula has created an interceptor drone capable of destroying fast high-altitude UAVs that are used against infrastructure facilities and critical infrastructure elements in the rear.

This was stated by Andrey Ivanov, the developer of the Russian Gadfly family drones, RIA Novosti reports. According to him, the drone can catch up and shoot down planes traveling at speeds of 180-200 km/h. He flies fast and sees well thanks to digital communication, the expert noted.

The new Tula development can shoot down, among other things, front-line heavy koper bombers of the Baba Yaga type. The drone flies at a speed of 65-68 m/s, TSN24 writes.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia, for the first time, they tested the control of unmanned aerial vehicles via satellite in geostationary orbit — at an altitude of about 36 thousand km. Previously, low-orbit groupings were used for these tasks. In contrast, geostationary satellites provide more stable and continuous communications due to their wide coverage. The technology opens up opportunities for creating long—range unmanned aircraft routes, from remote monitoring of vast territories to the delivery of mail and various cargoes.
