On November 24, servicemen of a separate battalion of the unmanned systems forces of the 51st Guards Army of the Southern Military District, as part of the Center group of forces, showed Izvestia their work to destroy the enemy in the Red Army area.

As Dmitry Astrakhan, a military correspondent for Izvestia, said, before starting work, the fighters are preparing drones (UAVs) for combat missions. So, a special cover is removed from the drone's camera, which, when intercepted, prevents enemy operators from finding out the take-off point. Then the sappers install fuses on the UAV.

"A separate army battalion performs tasks not in a narrow sector of the front, but throughout the army's area of operation. We are leaving, working out, blocking, somewhere we need to disrupt the logistics of the enemy, supply routes," says the platoon commander of the UAV with the call sign Romeo.

According to him, the unit's targets are firing points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), artillery, rocket artillery and others. Recently, military personnel were engaged in the destruction of militant fortifications, dugouts and trenches located in the forest belt. The fighters also destroyed an ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was located in a garage, and a fortified militant stronghold on the outskirts of Dimitrov in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

It is noted that the unit is staffed by volunteers and contractors who have mastered the management of drones.

"We recently worked at the BC warehouse, it was in the garage, we flew in there, and everything burned for a very long time," added the head of the UAV crew of a separate battalion of the 51st Army's unmanned systems troops with the call sign Shuva.

On October 23, soldiers of the 255th Regiment of the Southern Military District (SE) as part of the Center group of forces shared with Izvestia the details of the specifics of identifying enemy positions using the Mavic drone. Working at a command post is not just relentless monitoring of the situation using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The main task here is to receive orders and develop solutions. After receiving the order, the commanders begin to develop an action plan, which is transmitted to the company commanders. They begin to plan the operation, prepare the personnel and send groups on a mission.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
