Ex-Volkswagen plant in Russia has produced 30 thousand Tenet cars
The AGR Holding plant in Kaluga, which previously produced Volkswagen cars, has produced the 30-thousandth car of the Russian brand Tenet since the launch of the assembly line in July. The company's press service announced this on November 25.
In a few months, the company has launched the production of three models — the mid-size Tenet T7, the compact Tenet T4 and the seven-seat T8. They are manufactured using full-cycle technology, including welding, painting and assembly with multi-stage quality control.
According to the company, preparations for the release of each model included extensive engineering work to redesign the welding and painting workshops, the assembly line adapted to the design features of the vehicles, and new digital production management systems were also introduced. The level of automation of welding operations has reached 90%.
Tenet cars are manufactured taking into account Russian operating conditions. To protect the body, the bottom and hidden cavities are additionally treated with wax compounds, reinforced anti-corrosion, anti-noise and anti-gravity coatings are applied.
Earlier, on November 19, it was reported that the former head of Hyundai Motor CIS, Alexey Kalitsev, left the position of CEO of AGR Holding (formerly known as Volkswagen Group Rus).
Also that day, it became known that AGR Automotive Group holding intends to invest 37.1 billion rubles in the localization of car production at the former plants of American General Motors in St. Petersburg and 50.6 billion rubles at the former facilities of German Volkswagen in the Kaluga region.
