Sechin noted Wang Qishan's contribution to the development of the energy dialogue between Russia and China

The legendary Chinese leader Wang Qishan was recognized by the Russian people as a great friend of the country, who stood "at the origins of the creation of the ESPO pipeline system, which became a guaranteed route for our oil supplies" to China. This was stated by Igor Sechin, Executive Secretary of the Presidential Commission for the Development Strategy of the Fuel and Energy Complex, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft.

Speaking at the opening of the VII Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum (RCEBF) in Beijing, Sechin also noted that the personal contribution of Wang Qishan, who served as co-chairman of the Russia-China energy dialogue, "gave a powerful impetus to our partnership in the field of nuclear energy, gas supplies, coal, and electricity flows."

The head of Rosneft stressed that timely decisions to create a modern infrastructure for the supply of hydrocarbons have become an important factor in ensuring the energy security of Russia and China. Last year, Russia provided almost 19% of Chinese energy imports totaling about $100 billion, Sechin added.
