The growth points of global oil consumption are located in the Asia-Pacific region (APR). This opinion was expressed by Igor Sechin, Executive Secretary of the Presidential Commission for the Development Strategy of the Fuel and Energy Complex, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft.

"Forecasts by the world's leading analytical agencies indicate that by 2030, oil imports to China could grow by 1.4 million barrels per day. According to the IEA forecast, oil demand in neighboring India should increase by 2.5 million barrels per day over the next ten years," Sechin said at the opening of the VII Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum in Beijing.

The head of Rosneft called the petrochemical sector one of the key drivers of oil demand. "China has become the world's largest exporter of petrochemical products. According to Oxford University estimates, this sector will ensure an increase in oil consumption in the country of more than 1 million barrels per day by 2030," Sechin added.
