Finland announced the destruction of NATO by the US plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump's plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine contributes to the destruction of NATO. This was reported on November 24 by the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat (HS), citing sources.

"The plan that the US administration has been working on largely follows Russia's long—term goals. <...> Ukraine will also be denied membership in NATO," the publication says.

According to Tuomas Forsberg, professor of international politics at the University of Tampere, the adoption of the plan would mean "the moment of death of NATO."

Forsberg also noted that the United States positioned itself outside of NATO as an intermediary. In his opinion, there is a "complete interim period" in which the Europeans are forgotten," the newspaper noted.
