The share of the ruble in mutual settlements between Russia and Kyrgyzstan has reached 97%. This was announced by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov at a briefing on November 24.

"I would like to note that the share of the ruble in mutual settlements has reached 97%. This allows us to protect commercial transactions between the two countries from the negative impact and impact of the external environment," Ushakov said.

He added that Kyrgyzstan is an important strategic partner and ally of Russia in the Central Asian region. Relations between the two countries are traditionally friendly and develop in conditions of mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests, Ushakov noted.

"We sincerely value our relations of good and close friendship. This year, by the way, Russia and Kyrgyzstan celebrated their 25th anniversary and signed a declaration on eternal friendship, cooperation and partnership. It was adopted on July 27, 2000," he recalled.

The presidential aide also noted that the total volume of accumulated Russian direct investments in Kyrgyzstan exceeds $1.8 billion. In addition, Russia is the leader in the number of business structures with foreign participation operating in the republic, Ushakov added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan from November 25 to 27. During the visit, high-level talks are planned, and key issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction within the EAEU will also be discussed.

Earlier, on August 31, Vladimir Putin congratulated the leader of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on the Independence Day of the republic. He stressed that relations between the two countries are based on the principles of strategic partnership and alliance.
