The Higher Qualification Board of Judges (HCCC) of the Russian Federation has agreed to initiate criminal proceedings against Olga Petrova, Deputy Chairman of the Leninsky District Court of Kursk, and Mukhamed Tembotov, retired Justice of the peace of Judicial district No. 7 of the Nalchik Judicial District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. This was reported on November 24 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Thus, the submissions of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, were satisfied.

It is noted that Petrov is suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of 3 million rubles. We are talking about a criminal case that has been submitted to the court related to fraud on an especially large scale. According to investigators, Petrova imposed a non-custodial sentence on the defendant for a bribe of 3 million rubles. This information was confirmed by the evidence and testimony of the judge's intermediaries. The defendant herself did not agree with the initiation of a criminal case.

Tembotov is also charged with five counts of accepting bribes. According to investigators, he received money for imposing milder punishments than was provided for the crimes committed by the defendants.

Bastrykin also opened a criminal case against Svetlana Maltseva, a judge of the Arbitration Court of the Voronezh Region, on November 20. She faces imprisonment for up to 15 years.

On November 19, the HCCC reported that Bastrykin had requested permission for his office to institute criminal proceedings against six judges. It was clarified that the list includes Adam Voitlev, judge of the Shovgenovsky District Court of the Republic of Adygea, Olga Petrova, Deputy Chairman of the Leninsky District Court of Kursk, Mukhamed Tembotov, justice of the peace of the judicial district No. 7 of the Nalchik Judicial District of the KBR, retired, Valeria Tarasova, chairman of the Smolnensky District Court of St. Petersburg, and Karine Golikova, judge of the same court.
