A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of troops defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in a number of settlements in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Units of the Zapad group of forces improved their tactical position and defeated the enemy in several areas of the DPR and the Kharkiv region. The enemy's losses amounted to up to 230 soldiers, two armored personnel carriers, including an American M113 armored personnel carrier, five armored fighting vehicles, including three HMMWV armored vehicles made in the United States, 28 vehicles, two self-propelled artillery installations, a Romanian-made APR-40 multiple rocket launcher and nine electronic warfare stations. Five ammunition depots were destroyed.
The southern group of troops occupied more advantageous lines and positions, and also defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a number of settlements of the DPR. The enemy lost more than 235 militants, two armored combat vehicles, 19 vehicles and an artillery piece. Three warehouses of supplies and fuel were destroyed.
The military personnel of the Center group of forces improved their position along the front line and continued the destruction of the encircled enemy in the settlements of Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov in the DPR. Eight enemy blocking attacks were repelled during the day. In total, in the area of responsibility of the Center group of forces, enemy losses amounted to more than 425 people, six armored combat vehicles, including a US-made HMMWV armored vehicle, 10 vehicles and a 155-mm American M777 howitzer.
As a result of active offensive actions, units of the Vostok group of forces liberated the settlement of Zatishye in the Zaporizhia region. Enemy formations were also defeated in a number of settlements in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The enemy lost up to 245 soldiers, two armored combat vehicles, 11 vehicles and an Israeli-made RADA radar station.
The Dnepr group of troops defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized brigade, the coastal defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Novoandreevka, Stepovoye and Stepnogorsk of the Zaporizhia region and Pridneprovskoye of the Kherson region. More than 70 militants, two armored combat vehicles, 21 vehicles, a field artillery piece, seven electronic warfare stations, six ammunition depots, materiel and fuel were destroyed.
Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated the facilities of the energy, transport and port infrastructure of Ukraine used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ammunition depots, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 152 areas.
345 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.
According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 98,278 unmanned aerial vehicles, 638 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,216 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,619 multiple rocket launchers, 31510 field artillery guns and mortars, 47531 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
