The final stage of the Acrobatic Rock and Roll World Cup of the World Federation of Acrobatic Dances and Dance Sports (WFADS-2025) ended in Moscow on November 23. Izvestia publishes footage from the event.

The performances took place at the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace, which is located on the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. Teams from more than 25 countries came to the international competitions.

Nadezhda Erastova, President of the All-Russian Federation of Dance Sports, Breaking and Acrobatic Rock and Roll (FTSARR), told Izvestia that the event was the final one before the World Championships, which will be held on December 20 in Abu Dhabi.

She clarified that Russia is demonstrating loyalty to the foundations laid by the French sports figure and initiator of the modern Olympic Games, Pierre de Coubertin, who became the author of the concept of "Sport beyond politics." Erastova clarified that there can be no other emotions from rock'n'roll, except positive ones.

"This is a very interesting category — rock and roll show. Here you can show your creative streak, show yourself, deviate a little from the rules, <...> which makes it much more interesting and exciting," Sergey Svirin and Angelina Mushto from Moscow, winners of the rock and roll show discipline, told Izvestia.

Silver medalists in the Rock'n'roll Formation Women's discipline, representatives of Belarus ladys rock, said that the idea for their number was invented by coach Anastasia Sbitneva. The topic of their future production, as the participants clarified, just came to their leader's mind.

"What is rock and roll? It's a wild mix of emotions, acrobatics, and choreography. This is really what we live by. <...> It just didn't become a part of it, but it became our life," Nikita Gladkikh, who performs with Vera Danchenko, told Izvestia. Their tandem won the A-class-mixed discipline.

He added that if a person involved in this dance sport wants to occupy significant places, he needs to put a lot of time into the implementation of his plans, which should be spent on stable training.

On October 25, Izvestia published footage from the Russia Open DanceSport international ballroom dancing tournament in Moscow, which, despite the sanctions, was attended by more than 2,000 participants from 32 countries. The tournament featured a variety of genres, from waltz to rumba and jive. Special attention at the competitions was paid to charisma, performance technique, chemistry between partners, musicality and, of course, choreography.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
