The servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces told the details of the liberation of the village of New Zaporizhia

The assault units of the 37th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 36th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces broke through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with a rapid rush and liberated the settlement of New Zaporizhia in the Zaporizhia region, expanded the control zone along the Gaichur River over 9 km. This was announced on November 24 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The operator of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the call sign Jambal said that his unit was tasked with conducting aerial reconnaissance in the area where the Russian military were supposed to enter.

"We made the way easier for our stormtroopers, adjusted them, [told them] which side to approach, how best, where the enemy was, what he was doing. We are also on duty at night so that the enemy does not counterattack and approach the guys," he said.

Jambal added that at one of the sites, Russian drone operators discovered a heavy hexacopter that was mining the approaches to New Zaporizhia. This device, as the fighter specified, was eliminated by a direct hit.

The shooter with the Korean call sign said that when his unit was approaching the village through the forest belts, there were Ukrainian "birds" in the air all the time — that's what the military call drones. To hide from them, he and his colleagues disguised themselves in bushes, pits and abandoned buildings.

Upon arrival at the place, the members of the group, consisting of ten people, thought over their plan of further actions and went on the offensive. The fighter clarified that both he and his colleagues, being Buryats, communicated in their native language during the task, which did not allow the Ukrainian soldiers to predict their actions.

"Our task was to take a piece of highway, a segment and the settlement of New Zaporozhye. We went there on motorcycles. We were lucky with the weather — there was fog — which allowed us to quickly reach the village, fly in, surprise the enemy, and clear the village," said the squad commander with the call sign Ivolga.

According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have become less likely to resist — they are trying to retreat without a fight. The deputy platoon commander with the call sign Rubin added that the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are weak — they, as he noted, have practically no fortified, "powerful" positions.

The ministry clarified that after the liberation of New Zaporizhia, the Vostok group of troops completed the task at the junction of the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions to establish control over the right bank of the Gaichur River. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation took control of a large enemy defense center with an area of over 14 square kilometers.

The village of New Zaporizhia, as well as the settlement of Zvanovka, was liberated on Saturday, November 22. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost about 225 soldiers, an armored vehicle, six vehicles and an electronic warfare (EW) station in the Zaporozhye area. According to the ministry, military personnel of the Vostok group of forces and units of the Southern Group of Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, respectively, took part in these operations.
