The head of the DPR spoke about the ongoing cleansing in Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov
Servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to clear out Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov from the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on November 23 by the head of the republic Denis Pushilin.
"As we can see, Krasnoarmeysk itself continues to be cleared, [there are] urban battles. Moreover, if we take the eastern part of Dimitrov, and if we take the northern part of Krasnoarmeysk, then there are almost bayonet battles with personal contact," he said in a video message posted on his Telegram channel.
Pushilin noted that Russian units are liberating this territory "meter by meter and street by street." He also added that over the past week, the Russian Armed Forces were able to expand the control zone in the area of Ivanopolis and from the Kleban-Byk reservoir.
Pushilin said a day earlier that the Ukrainian military was not abandoning futile attempts to leave the encircled Dimitrov. According to him, one of the attempts was made by representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the north of the DPR. On November 22, the Russian Defense Ministry said that during the cleansing of Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov, carried out from November 15 to November 21, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 1,700 troops.
