Former Amur Tigers defender Daniil Shmatkov died in an accident at the age of 24.
Daniil Shmatkov, an ex-defender of the Amur Tigers hockey club, died at the age of 24 as a result of a traffic accident. This was announced on November 22 by the club's press service.
"The ex-defender of the Amur Tigers got into a tragic accident while driving his truck," the Telegram channel said.
Shmatkov was born in Sovetskaya Gavan, where he started playing hockey, and later moved to Khabarovsk, completing the entire local hockey school and becoming one of the leaders of the junior team. The hockey player is survived by his wife and two children.
"The newspaper.Ru" reports that Shmatkov played 107 games in the Youth Hockey League (MHL) for the Amur Tigers.
