The draft peace plan, which was reworked in European countries, based on the draft proposed by US leader Donald Trump, was sent to Ukraine and the White House on the eve of multilateral negotiations in Switzerland. This was reported on November 23 by the Reuters news agency, citing a source in the German government.

"At a meeting of officials in Geneva, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that the purpose of the meeting was to develop a plan acceptable to Ukraine that could be used in negotiations with Russia. According to him, it will probably take time," the agency said.

The German newspaper Bild reported on November 22 that the European Union (EU) countries would like to amend at least four points of Trump's peace plan for a settlement in Ukraine. In particular, European countries are dissatisfied with the proposals on the issue of territories, as well as on the frozen assets of the Russian Federation. Mertz doesn't like the US ideas about Russia's assets the most, the media clarified.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced yesterday that Moscow had received a 28-point plan from Washington, which, according to him, could be used "as the basis for a final peaceful settlement." Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that there had not yet been a substantive discussion of the US peace plan with Russia. However, according to him, the effective work of the Russian military should convince the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, that it is better to negotiate and do it now.
