The US administration is considering the possibility of transferring Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine as a security guarantee after reaching a peace agreement. This was reported on November 23 by The Washington Post, citing informed sources.

"To increase deterrence measures after the <conflict>, officials are considering the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles if a peace agreement is reached," the newspaper writes.

According to sources, the supply of modern missiles is considered as an alternative to the deployment of military contingents of European countries on Ukrainian territory, which Russia opposes. Washington assumes that Kiev will not use these missiles for preemptive strikes, as this will lead to a loss of support from Western partners.

At the same time, the administration of American leader Donald Trump is ready to review the controversial points of its peace plan, including the possible abandonment of the limitation of the size of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to the interlocutors of the publication, the United States seeks to prevent the "collapse" of Ukraine according to the Yugoslav scenario, providing it with sufficient defensive capabilities.

On October 23, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a discussion on the transfer of Tomahawk missiles between representatives of Kiev and the countries of the European Union (EU). According to him, Ukraine is already in a detailed conversation with a number of European countries on this issue.

Earlier, on October 19, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said that the American leader had not yet made a final decision on the supply of Tomahawk to Kiev. He noted that the Trump administration intends to continue long-term work on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

On November 23, it was reported that the leaders of the European Union (EU) had developed an alternative proposal for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, which provides for the lifting of restrictions on the Ukrainian army and postponing the resolution of territorial issues for the period after the ceasefire.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on November 21 that the decision-making space for Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was shrinking. According to him, the rejection of a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and the continuation of a special military operation (SVO) are "senseless and dangerous" for Ukraine. He also noted that Russia remains open to peace negotiations.
