The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has prepared charges against Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, in the case of embezzlement of budget money. This was stated on November 23 by Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexei Goncharenko (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist).

"NABU has prepared a suspicion on Rustem Umerov. He is accused of embezzlement of public funds. In addition, Rustem Umerov has a part of the "community" recorded, which was taken to the Persian Gulf countries," the deputy wrote on his Telegram channel.

Earlier, Goncharenko stated that the actions of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, and his entourage caused the outbreak of a corruption scandal. The MP added that it was the friends of the Ukrainian president who stole money aimed at energy and the protection of the country, and accused Zelensky of concealing their actions.

He also stated that it was the Ukrainian president who brought the situation to the point where people were rounded up and caught on the streets, and that it was because of him that people found themselves in poverty when they did not even have money for bread.

On November 10, NABU established a money laundering scheme in the energy sector of the state, through which about $100 million passed. Later, on November 11, it was reported that in Ukraine, seven people were charged with corruption in the energy sector, including Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme). The members of the group received illegal benefits from the contracts of Energoatom. In addition, they legalized it through a back office in Kiev.

On November 12, a court in Kiev arrested Dmitry Basov, Director of Security at Energoatom, for two months with a $1 million bail. At the same time, Zelensky demanded the resignation of Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk and Justice Minister German Galushchenko.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariana Bezuglaya said on November 19 that the energy minister had fled the country amid a corruption scandal. On the same day, the rada dismissed Galushchenko. At the same time, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said that corruption schemes on the territory of the state were led personally by Zelensky and the head of his office, Andrei Ermak. As the former prime minister noted, Yermak could not act without the approval of Zelensky, who was aware of the affairs of his "closest assistant."
