WP has learned about the preparation by Europe of a response plan for the settlement in Ukraine

The leaders of the European Union have developed an alternative proposal for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, which provides for the lifting of restrictions on the Armed Forces of Ukraine and postponing the resolution of territorial issues for the period after the ceasefire. This was reported on November 23 by The Washington Post.

According to the newspaper, Kiev's European allies said that the American plan "needs to be finalized." The European proposal calls for maintaining the current strength of the Ukrainian army, since limiting it to 600,000 people, according to the EU, would make the country vulnerable.

The document also emphasizes the inadmissibility of changing borders by force and calls for Ukraine to transfer control over the Zaporizhia NPP, Kakhovskaya HPP and Kinburnskaya Spit. The proposal has been sent to the US administration for further coordination of positions.

According to him, the rejection of a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and the continuation of a special military operation (SVO) is "senseless and dangerous" for Ukraine. He also noted that Russia remains open to peace negotiations.
