Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on November 22 that Ukraine's accession to NATO was no longer considered a possible scenario.

"No one disputes this anymore. On the contrary, this is a key element of the proposal [of the head of the Donald White House]. Trump, without whom Russia would not have considered him at all," he said during a video broadcast on the YouTube channel SMER — Socialna Demokracia.

Fico stressed that the European Union (EU), instead of supporting the peace process, is discussing the allocation of additional funds from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. He also noted that forces have already appeared in the EU that are trying to hinder the negotiations, and called them "militant hawks."

On November 19, the Axios portal reported on the details of the US plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. It was noted that it involves the transfer of the territories of Donbass controlled by Ukraine to the Russian Federation in exchange for security guarantees from Washington. As the portal noted, the regions of the region will be considered a demilitarized zone, so Kiev will need to withdraw the militants from there.

Earlier, on November 20, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt announced that the special envoy of the American leader, Steven Witkoff, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio were in contact with Russia and Ukraine about the peace plan. She added that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, supports this plan.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on November 21 that Zelensky's decision-making space was shrinking. According to him, the rejection of a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and the continuation of a special military operation (SVO) is "senseless and dangerous" for Ukraine. He also noted that Russia remains open to peace negotiations.
