Representatives of the Stolitsa Special Rapid reaction unit (SOBR) have detained criminals in Moscow who abducted veterans of a special military operation (SVO) in order to extort money. This was announced on the evening of November 22 in the press service of the capital's Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Guard.
"Employees of the Stolitsa SOBR <...> stopped a car with bandits right on the road. Among those detained was an active participant in the Batal-Hadji terrorist organization ((the organization is recognized as terrorist and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation)," the agency said in a statement on the Telegram channel.
It is emphasized that the criminals who abducted the fighter, according to preliminary data, extorted money from him or his family members. Currently, the participants of the criminal scheme, the details of which are being established, have been arrested.
The source of Izvestia, which published footage of the arrest of criminals on the same day, clarified that members of this gang not only abducted, but also tortured veterans, as well as threatened their families. According to his information, Ruslan Kartoev, an active member of the Batalhajin group, was allegedly among those detained.
