Venezuela called Putin's congratulatory letter to Maduro touching
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has received a touching birthday greeting from Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced on November 22 by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto.
On Sunday, November 23, the Venezuelan leader turns 63.
"President Nicolas Maduro Moros has received a touching congratulatory letter from President Putin, which confirms the strategic nature of relations between Russia and Venezuela," Gil said in his Telegram channel.
The minister added that his Russian counterpart noted Maduro's leadership in governing Venezuela. Gil noted that Venezuela thanks President Putin for showing brotherhood and solidarity, and confirms its commitment to work together on a multicentric and multipolar world.
On November 14, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that there would be no attempts to destabilize the situation around Venezuela and the Caribbean. He stressed that international law "is in a sad state in many parts of the world."
Prior to that, on November 30, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that Russia continues to support the Venezuelan leadership in protecting national sovereignty and is ready to respond to possible threats.
