A resident of Energodar was injured as a result of a combined strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the town of Energodar, where the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is located, a civilian was injured. This was announced on November 22 by the mayor Maxim Pukhov in his Telegram channel.

According to Pukhov, a local resident born in 1949 was wounded in the attack. The victim was hospitalized in a medical facility to provide the necessary assistance. His condition is assessed as satisfactory.

As the mayor pointed out, Ukrainian militants attacked the city using drones and artillery.

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said on November 19 that the fighting in Ukraine remains the main global risk to nuclear safety. He also called the issue of a long-term solution to the problem of cooling water at the Zaporizhia NPP still relevant.

On November 6, station representative Evgenia Yashina indicated that the NPP was under reliable protection. According to her, at the moment, the only source of risk for the NPP is the systematic shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
