Russia and the BRICS surpass the G7 countries in all key economic and political indicators. This was announced on November 22 by American political scientist Larry Johnson.

"Russia and BRICS are now surpassing the G7 in all indicators," he said live on the Judging Freedom podcast.

The expert stressed that Washington's proposal to return Russia to the G8 format does not look serious against the background of the successful development of Moscow's cooperation with the BRICS countries.

"It's like telling a champion baseball player, say, Babe Ruth, 'Hey, you're welcome back to the minor leagues,'— Johnson added.

The G20 summit opens on November 22 without the participation of the leaders of Russia, the United States and China.

Following a meeting of the G7 foreign ministers in Canada on November 12, Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged that the United States had almost exhausted its potential to impose additional restrictions on Russia. According to the head of American diplomacy, Washington has already applied restrictions against Russia's largest oil companies.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 2 that the authority of the SCO and BRICS in the world is growing. He also called the BRICS member countries natural partners united by a common idea of "building relationships to find mutually acceptable solutions."
