President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree pardoning 31 Ukrainian citizens who were serving sentences for criminal offenses in the republic. This was announced on November 22 by the press secretary of the head of state Natalia Eismont.

"As a follow—up to the agreements reached between US President Donald Trump and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, 31 Ukrainian citizens have been pardoned at the request of the Ukrainian side," BelTA quoted Eismont as saying.

The spokeswoman clarified that the pardoned persons are currently being transferred to the Ukrainian side. This step is presented as a gesture of goodwill aimed at creating conditions for the settlement of the conflict in the region.

Eismont stressed that Belarus consistently advocates for the stabilization of the situation in the region and the establishment of a dialogue between states. According to her, negotiations with various countries, including the United States, are continuing in an active mode, and Minsk remains ready to consider proposals from all interested parties.
