- Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Joyous
The assault units of the 64th Guards Motorized Rifle brigade of the Vostok group of forces confidently pushed into the enemy's defenses to a depth of 8 km west of Privolye and liberated the settlement of Joy in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The relevant footage is published by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 22.
The Vostok group of troops took control of more than 30 square kilometers of enemy territory. Under the onslaught of the assault troops, the enemy abandoned their positions and retreated across the Gaichur River. The liberation of the settlement of Joyous endangers the enemy's defensive formations along the Gaichur from the north and contributes to the displacement of Ukrainian forces to the west. The warriors of the Far East expanded their control on the Gulyai–Pole-Pokrovskoye highway, occupying a stretch of over 4 km.
"The main difficulties were the long distance. <...> We were looking for a ford, and some also managed to swim across the river. <...> The enemy's UAVs did not allow the groups to enter. The weather helped a lot, in particular, fog, as well as rains," the shooter with the call sign Arbita told about the hidden approach to Joy.
The grenade launcher operator with the call sign Korol noted that, despite the presence of a large number of "birds" in the enemy, the Russian troops also have enough UAVs. He said that the fighters were shown the way using drones, and the commander clearly indicated the direction and actions. Thanks to their teamwork and professionalism, the assault teams were able to liberate the settlement in a short time.
Moving in this direction, our units are expanding control over the main supply artery of the garrison of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Gulyai-Pole, occupying new advantageous positions, increasing pressure on the enemy's defenses and creating conditions for the further development of the offensive.
"The obstacles were different: artillery fire, drones, kamikazes, airlifters, and Baba Yaga flew in several times during the day. <...> In the village itself, the first group entered with a jerk, entrenched in the first house. We followed the routes given to us, when the rest of the groups had already approached, we began to move on. The enemy tried to defend their position, we offered them to surrender, but we took it anyway. Some of them were afraid, ran away, and others fought to the end. <...> It turned out to go through the fog, we were given the weather conditions to do it," the squad commander with the call sign Poltava shared the details of the assault under the blows of Baba Yaga, kamikaze and artillery.
On November 21, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian army had liberated 16 settlements in a week, including Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region. It was clarified that the units of the Vostok group of forces liberated the settlements of Guy, Joyous, Nechayevka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Veseloe, Yablokovo, Ravnopolye in the Zaporizhia region.
