The State Duma assessed the reaction of Ukraine and Europe to the US plan
The positions of Ukraine and Europe speak about the mandatory continuation of the conflict. Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, expressed this opinion on Friday, November 21, assessing the reaction of Kiev and European leaders to the US plan to resolve the conflict.
"Europe and Ukraine have already stated that this is not a peace plan, but a plan for Ukraine's surrender. They continue to insist on a complete ceasefire and the deployment of European troops. All these positions put forward by Ukraine and Europe speak about the instability of the structure and the mandatory continuation of this conflict at any provocation," Chepa said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The parliamentarian admitted that provocations could be from the West.
"MI6 (the British Foreign Intelligence Service. — Ed.) certainly won't miss such a moment. Therefore, we will watch. Ukraine and Europe have not yet accepted this plan," he concluded.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow had received a 28-point plan from Washington to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, RT reports.
According to the Russian leader, the new plan was not discussed in detail due to Kiev's disagreement. Despite this, Putin noted that the document could lay the "foundation for a final peaceful settlement," reports NSN.
On November 19, the Axios portal reported on the details of the US plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. It involves the transfer of the territories of Donbass controlled by Ukraine to the Russian Federation in exchange for security guarantees from Washington.
Later, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that Ukraine would lose the remaining parts of Donbass in a short time. Along with this, the American leader set November 27 as the deadline for the adoption of the plan by the Ukrainian side.
At the same time, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the country is currently experiencing one of the most difficult moments in its history. The President of Ukraine added that the next week will be difficult for the government. However, Ukraine plans to focus on working with the United States and other partners to find constructive solutions.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a briefing that there had been no substantive discussion of the US peace plan with Russia. However, according to him, the effective work of the Russian military should convince Zelensky that it is better to negotiate and do it now.
