The Cameroonian-flagged Seahorse oil tanker was forced to change its route en route to Venezuela when the American destroyer USS Stockdale crossed its course. This was reported by Bloomberg on November 21.

According to the newspaper, on November 13, the ship was heading to the Venezuelan coast to deliver fuel, but the appearance of an American ship on its way led to a U-turn. The tanker sailed towards Cuba, and the USS Stockdale passed near the territorial waters of Venezuela, heading towards Puerto Rico.

After the incident, the destroyer proceeded in the direction of Puerto Rico, and the Seahorse tanker, in turn, twice tried to resume movement to Venezuela, but both times had to return. He is currently in the Caribbean Sea in a waiting state, adds "Газета.Ru ".

Experts note that the behavior of the American ship remains unclear, and the US Southern Command declined to comment on its maneuvers.

Earlier, on November 16, information appeared on the website of the United States Navy about the entry into the Caribbean of the US Navy strike group led by the largest aircraft carrier in the world, the USS Gerald R. Ford. According to the navy, dozens of tactical aircraft are stationed on board the aircraft carrier, and the crew consists of about 4 thousand military personnel.
