This year, the volume of Lada Iskra production at the Saint Petersburg Automobile Plant, which previously produced Nissan and Xcite cars, will be reduced by a quarter and will amount to just over 3 thousand units. Maxim Sokolov, the head of the company, told about this, Interfax reports on November 21. Initially, from the start of assembly in September until the end of 2025, it was planned to produce 4 thousand such machines.

The top manager explained that the market is "behaving sluggishly this year," with the exception of October, when sales were boosted by the decision to index the recycling collection for individuals. However, this mainly affected Chinese cars and cars that come through alternative imports. At the same time, sales of Lada cars remained at a relatively low level throughout the year, Sokolov said.

He noted that the assembly lines for Lada Iskra in Tolyatti and St. Petersburg have reached an average production rate of 15 cars per hour. They are configured for logistics and distribution of supplies, including to the regions of the Northwestern Federal District and Belarus.

Sales of Lada Iskra produced by Tolyatti plant started on July 20. The Iskra sedan costs from 1.25 million rubles in the basic configuration with a manual transmission. The most expensive modification of the model, the raised SW Cross station wagon in the maximum configuration with a CVT, was estimated at 1.8 million rubles.

Earlier, on November 7, it was reported that 637 Lada Iskra cars were registered in Russia in October. A total of 765 copies of the latest VAZ model have been registered since the start of sales.
