Shoigu to take part in CSTO events in Bishkek

On November 27, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu will take part in a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), the Council of Defense Ministers (CFR) and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils (KSSB). The CSTO, which will be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported to Izvestia on November 21 by the press service of the Security Council staff.

"During the meetings, it is planned to discuss the military-political situation in the CSTO collective security regions and summarize the Organization's activities in 2025. On January 1, 2026, the CSTO presidency passes to the Russian Federation. With this in mind, the Russian side will present Russia's priority areas of activity in the Organization in 2026," the statement said.

The agenda of the meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the CFR, the KSSB of the Security Council and the signing of a number of decisions aimed at improving the collective security system and the activities of the CSTO Secretariat.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on November 12 that he plans to take part in the CSTO summit in Bishkek.

Prior to that, in the period from October 14 to October 19, the CSTO joint exercises "Indestructible Brotherhood – 2025" were held in Tajikistan. Military personnel from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia took part in them.
