Hunter convicted of accidental murder in Murmansk region

In the Murmansk region, a verdict was passed against a resident of Moscow, who was accused of causing death by negligence. The man made an accidental shot while hunting.

The incident occurred in May 2025 in the Tersk district. According to the Bi-port news agency, during the hunt, the defendant did not make sure that he had removed all the cartridges from the magazine and chamber, and pulled the trigger. The bullet hit another hunter, and the victim died.

The defendant admitted his guilt. The court also took into account mitigating circumstances, including compensation for moral and material damage.

The man was sentenced to one year in prison. The defendant is prohibited from changing his place of residence and traveling outside Moscow without the approval of a specialized government agency.
