There is a very dangerous krestovichok jellyfish in Russia, said Anatoly Tavrichesky, a member of the Russian Geographical Society, oceanographer, on Friday, November 21, commenting on the news of the death of a child in Malaysia after a cubomedusa burn.

"Our Far East is home to the most dangerous jellyfish, the krestovichok. It is small in size, but you can get a severe burn with unpleasant consequences," he said in a conversation with aif.ru .

The oceanographer recommended to be careful on vacation at the seaside, swim underwater with a mask, glasses, and also look around carefully so as not to hurt the jellyfish.

Earlier, a two-year-old boy from Russia died of complications after being bitten by a jellyfish on Langkawi Beach in Malaysia. Doctors fought for his life for five days, reports 360.ru .

The incident occurred on Saturday, November 15th. The boy's father, a 32-year-old IT engineer from Khabarovsk, said he would not blame anyone for what happened, but hoped that the tragedy would help draw attention to the danger posed by cubomeduses, according to the website. kp.ru .

Despite the efforts of doctors, it was not possible to save the child's life, RT reports.
