The amount of damage in the case of embezzlement of funds from the Russian Ministry of Defense against Yulia Mervaezova, former Deputy Minister of Construction of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), exceeded 9 billion rubles. This was reported on November 21 by the TASS news agency with reference to court materials.

The former head of the General Directorate of Military Equipment (GUOV) is also being investigated in this case Evgeny Gorbachev and the former head of the Main Military Construction Directorate No. 8 (GVSU No. 8) Vadim Vygulny and subcontractors.

It is specified that Gorbachev, together with Mervaezova and other defendants, stole more than 9 billion rubles as part of the execution of 14 government contracts.

According to investigators, Mervaezova ensured the receipt of advances on contracts, withdrawal of funds, their cashing out and registration of forged accounting documents to conceal the theft.
