Chinese crossover based on Toyota may appear in Russia

On November 21, Aion (GAC sub-brand) held a presentation of the compact crossover i60 at the International Auto Show in Guangzhou, China, a correspondent of Izvestia reported on November 21.

The Aion i60 was developed in close cooperation with Toyota, it is based on the Japanese Toyota bZ3Xgo model presented on the Chinese market. The novelty will be available in both an all-electric version and a hybrid version.

The electric car is equipped with a 204 or 224 horsepower engine. There are three types of batteries of different capacities to choose from, with a range of 400 to 600 km.

The hybrid version is complemented by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a capacity of 101 hp, which is powered by an electric motor. The power reserve of such a crossover with a full tank of fuel and a charged battery with a capacity of 29.16 kWh exceeds 1.2 thousand km.

Representatives of the GAC headquarters did not rule out the possibility of the Aion i60 appearing on the Russian market in the future.

As the deputy president of GAC International, Lu Weicong, said yesterday, the Aion car brand may appear on the Russian market. According to him, the first models from the Aion brand may be the Aion Y and Aion V. These are electric crossovers with a length of 4.4 and 4.6 m, respectively.
