The main contribution to the development of the capital's industrial sector by 2030 will be made by five main industries: radio electronics, electric vehicle manufacturing, and the manufacture of medicines, food, and medical devices. This was stated by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"They will become growth drivers and provide more than 80% of the total increase in gross value added (GVA) of the industrial sector by the end of the decade – in monetary terms over 2.2 trillion rubles," Liksutov said.

At the same time, radio electronics (including microelectronics and photonics) will make the largest contribution, the sector will account for 40% of the total increase in GVA.

Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow government and head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, said that Moscow relies on the support of high-tech sectors: their share in the revenue of the capital's industry will grow from 42% to more than 50% by 2030. "This will increase the sustainability of the city's economy and strengthen its position as a global research and production center. The creation and development of high-tech enterprises will also be facilitated by further clustering, which helps ensure industrial synergy and develop new competencies," Garbuzov emphasized.

According to the industrial development strategy adopted by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the manufacturing industry has become the most important driving force of the city's economy. The mayor noted that by 2030, the capital's share in the GVA of Russian industry will increase from 18 to 22%. The dynamics of the indicator determines the socio-economic vector, including the level of wages, the tax base and business activity in general.
