The All-Russian Theater marathon festival will be held in Moscow.

The All-Russian Marathon Festival of theaters "Russia — Theater — Society" will be held in the capital. It is provided for by a cooperation agreement signed by the Union of Theatrical Figures of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the government of Moscow, the press service of the Moscow Department of Culture reported.

"The productions of the new project will be presented as part of the Theater Boulevard International Open Festival," said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina. She recalled that this summer it attracted more than 1.5 million viewers and became the longest-running in the world.

The marathon festival "Russia - Theater — Society" will bring together the country's leading collectives, youth and student troupes. The program will include performances of various genres, from ballet to musical, as well as workshops, exhibitions and creative meetings.

"The agreement shows our common course to preserve and enhance theatrical traditions. It is our commitment to support creative search, nurture new talents and affirm the role of the theater as one of the main spiritual pillars of Russian society," said Vladimir Mashkov, Chairman of the Union of Theatrical Figures of the Russian Federation.

Russian Deputy Minister of Culture Sergey Pershin called Russia one of the few countries "with their own art schools with their own philosophy, aesthetics and methods." According to him, the Stanislavsky system has become such a "gold standard" in the theater. "This is rightfully our national pride. Therefore, we plan to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatrical Figures of the Russian Federation on a large scale: more than a thousand events and projects will be held throughout the country," Pershin added. He noted that the All-Russian Marathon Theater Festival "Russia – Theater – Society" is part of this big plan.

The Theater Boulevard Festival was first held in Moscow in 2024. This season, 3,000 Russian and foreign artists joined him. The audience was shown more than a thousand productions, and the program also included concerts and creative activities.
