China unveils the fastest car in the world
Chinese sports car manufacturer Yangwang (part of the BYD car concern) showed a special version of the Y9 sports car with the Xtreme console at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 21, an Izvestia correspondent reports from the scene.
This model is considered the fastest production car on the planet — in September, the Yangwang Y9 Xtreme set a Guinness World Record. At a special race track in Papenburg, Germany, he reached a speed of 496.22 km/h. Tires designed for speeds up to 500 km/h were specially developed for this car.
In addition, this year the U9 Xtreme became the first mass-produced electric car to complete a 20.8 km circuit of the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes. His result was almost six seconds faster than the previous record holder, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.
The all-wheel drive supercar is powered by electric motors with a total peak power of 3019 horsepower. The Yangwang Y9 Xtreme is more than twice as powerful as the standard U9, which has a power output of 1,306 hp. The car will be released in a limited edition of only 30 copies.
Earlier in the day, GAC showed the Hyptec A800 sedan in Guangzhou. It is possible that in the future this model will appear on the Russian market.
