The average cost of kitchen renovation in 2025 largely depends on appliances, furniture, and the scale of repairs. The refrigerator and hob remain the largest purchases — 72% and 52% of Russians choose them, respectively. This is stated in the Hyundai brand study, which was reviewed on November 24 by Izvestia.

"Russians are increasingly choosing household appliances that combine functionality, energy efficiency and aesthetics. The kitchen is becoming the center of home comfort and technology, so attention to quality, design and innovative solutions comes to the fore. That is why Russians often update repairs and decor only in the kitchen," said Alexander Galkin, Product Director of the Hyundai brand.

According to the study, 17% of Russians made major repairs to the kitchen in 2025, 35% limited themselves to cosmetic updates, and 12% updated only appliances and furniture. Another 20% are planning repairs in the near future.

The reasons for repairs vary: 18% replace outdated furniture and appliances, 29% strive for a more modern interior, 22% start renovation after moving. A small part of the respondents (3-5%) mentioned redevelopment, the birth of children or the preparation of housing for sale.

When choosing a new technique, the priorities are also obvious. The refrigerator is one of the most important purchases, and 72% put it in the first place. According to Galkin, this is an expensive technique that requires careful operation: stable operation, no power surges, tight closing of the door are important conditions for its durability. Cooktops and ovens occupy the second and third places in popularity, followed by dishwashers and microwaves.

Aesthetics also come to the fore: half of buyers value the appearance of appliances and furniture, 47% focus on reliability, 25% on energy efficiency, 17% prefer embedded solutions.

The study noted that the majority of respondents prefer to separate repair control: 43% consider the optimal format in which the owner monitors the process, and the installation of equipment is performed by professionals. Another 19% are in favor of full control of the owner.

The cost of the full sale of the renovated kitchen, including furniture and appliances, varies greatly: 8% expect to meet 50-100 thousand rubles, 17% — 100-200 thousand, 18% — 200-300 thousand rubles. At the same time, 20% assume costs of 300-500 thousand rubles, and another 18% are ready to spend up to 1 million rubles.

Galkin stressed that the renovation of the kitchen in 2025 requires careful planning and cost estimation. It is important to consider not only the budget, but also the functionality and style of the kitchen to create a comfortable and durable space.

Artem Okhmat, head of advanced projects at Level Group, told Izvestia on November 23 that flooding of the apartment could be avoided due to high-quality waterproofing. According to him, the surface needs to be cleaned of dust, dirt and construction debris for better adhesion of materials.

After leveling the base and sealing the cracks, you can start priming. The coating waterproofing is applied in two layers, it is important that it is penetrating and fills the pores and cracks. If repairs are done independently, then these conditions are extremely important.
