The media reported on Zelensky's meeting with American generals

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll and representatives of the American generals. This was reported by the RBC-Ukraine agency, citing an informed source.

The head of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, is taking part in the negotiations. His return to Ukraine took place against the background of publications about the possible involvement in the corruption scheme of businessman Timur Mindich.

On the same day, the Ukrainian European Solidarity party registered a resolution in the Verkhovna Rada demanding that Zelensky dismiss Andrei Ermak and Umerov from the posts of head of the presidential office.

On November 10, NABU revealed a money laundering scheme in the energy sector of the state, through which about $100 million passed. In the course of the corruption case in the energy sector, seven people were charged, including businessman Timur Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme). The members of the group received illegal benefits from the contracts of Energoatom and legalized them through a back office in Kiev.

On November 12, a court in Kiev arrested Dmitry Basov, Director of Security at Energoatom, for two months with a $1 million bail. On the same day, Zelensky demanded the resignation of Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk and Justice Minister German Galushchenko.

Later, on November 19, Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariana Bezuglaya said that the energy minister had fled the country amid a corruption scandal. The next day, there were reports of Umerov's return to the country.
