"A man driving a Toyota car ran over a woman who was crossing the roadway at a controlled pedestrian crossing at a traffic light, and then fled the scene. The pedestrian died on the spot from her injuries," the Telegram channel says.

The driver was detained. He turned out to be an employee of the patrol and guard service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sergiev Posad district, who was driving a personal car during off-duty hours.

It is specified that the policeman was dismissed and will be further punished in accordance with the procedure established by law.
