Register of trusted travel agents to be launched in Russia
A register of trusted travel aggregators will be created in Russia, and its implementation is scheduled to begin in 2026. This was announced on November 20 in Roskachestvo.
"Starting in 2026, it is planned to start maintaining a register of trusted online platforms not only in the online retail industry, but also in the field of travel services," TASS cites the text of the message.
The initiative to launch the registry is linked to the rapid growth of the domestic tourism market. According to Roskachestvo, 50% of tourist accommodation bookings are made through aggregators, and the market volume reaches 440 billion rubles.
The methodology for evaluating aggregators for inclusion in the register is being developed jointly with Rosaccreditation and the Association of Travel Aggregators. It includes 26 indicators grouped into three blocks: service security, information transparency, and basic cybersecurity.
According to Dmitry Volvach, head of Rosaccreditation, aggregators not included in the register will not be able to access verified data and will be limited in their participation in the assessment system. The project is being implemented by Roskachestvo together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Rosaccreditation.
Alexander Osaulenko, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, said on July 23 that new destinations for tourists, including international trends, are opening up in Russia. At the same time, there is an increase in demand for travel to the Middle East. He recalled that new destinations are opening up in Russia this year, for example, the countries of the Middle East — Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia. According to international indicators, these areas are among the most advanced in terms of dynamics.
