All-Russian Santa Claus from Veliky Ustyug called the Christmas Tree of Wishes campaign a "wonderful New Year's miracle." He stated this on November 20 during a conversation with journalists at the Rossiya National Center.
"This is the most wonderful New Year's miracle — the Wish Fulfillment Tree. With all the snowflakes of my frosty soul, I thank all the wonderful people who can really help those kids who, unfortunately, are not doing well in this life," Santa Claus's words are reported by TASS.
According to Santa Claus, the older generation, despite the difficulties, also continues to "wholeheartedly believe in miracles." In addition, he thanked all the people who do good deeds and urged adults and children to start doing good with small deeds, adding that they create an atmosphere of celebration and hope.
In January, during the New Year holidays, the events of the Christmas Tree of Wishes charity event took place at the headquarters of the Southern Military District (SE) in Rostov-on-Don. It was noted that as part of the campaign, the children were given a joint gift and a trip to a virtual reality club was organized for them. In addition, all their wishes, including a dollhouse, laptop, phones, toy cars on the remote control, as well as various sweets, were fulfilled at their home by Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden.
The Christmas Tree of Wishes charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of the First" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been running since 2018 and lasts from mid—November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged three to seventeen who find themselves in a difficult life situation have the opportunity to fulfill their cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year. In 2023, the "Wishing Tree" started on November 15 and lasted until February 28, 2024.
