Sberbank talked about using AI for business lending

The portfolio of AI-assisted loans to medium and large businesses has reached 5 trillion rubles. This was announced by Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, at the AI Journey international conference.

He noted that Sber has launched a "Digital Credit Process" in the corporate segment, which is based on an autonomous decision-making system using AI. "We have learned how to calculate and approve online loan offers to our current and future customers. To date, 96% of corporate clients using lending services have received individual loan offers, and more than 90% of decisions on revolving credit operations are made using AI models," Vedyakhin said.

He stressed that artificial intelligence is a new lending standard that allows businesses to offer financial solutions online.

"In November, for the first time in corporate lending, a customer of a medium—sized business was given a fully "autonomous" loan without the participation of an employee at all stages - from the formation of an offer to the disbursement of funds to a checking account. Our next goal is to conduct every second new transaction for the medium, large and largest business segments independently in 2026," Vedyakhin added.
