Automaker GAC will not abandon buttons in cars
The physical buttons and keys will remain in the GAC vehicles. This was announced on November 20 by Mamato Katsumato, technical director of GAC International, according to the Izvestia correspondent from the headquarters of the Chinese automaker.
"We see that displays and screens in cars are a recent trend. They are popular with the younger generation of buyers. However, we understand that for safety purposes, a number of machine functions must be controlled using physical buttons. Therefore, they will remain in our cars," he said.
First of all, we are talking about turning on the alarm system, controlling heating and blowing windows, said the GAC top manager.
Earlier, the analytical agency Autostat reported that in October, the share of new Chinese-made passenger cars sold in Russia amounted to 49.6% of the total market (82.2 thousand units). The last time it was below the 50% mark was more than two years ago. In July 2023, the share exceeded this threshold for the first time, reaching 51.8%. In the following months, it grew and in September 2024 reached a peak in the history of observations of 61.9%.
