The Ministry of Transport called on the regions to develop the rental of electric scooters

Russian Deputy Transport Minister Alexei Shilo has sent a letter to regional authorities urging them to promote electric scooter rental services rather than create additional barriers to their development. This was reported on November 20 by the newspaper Kommersant with reference to the letter in their possession.

"Instead of prohibitions, Mr. Shilo advises subjects to "create conditions for the safe and comfortable use of SIM (personal mobility aids. — Ed.) by integrating into the urban transport system," the article says.

The ministry stressed that the organization of SIM traffic should comply with the law and be more adapted to the conditions of the road situation. The Ministry of Transport also requested information from the regions "on the state of development of the legal regulation of the use of SIM" until December 25, 2025, notes "Газета.Ru ".

Separate bike paths may appear in each new residential complex.

Earlier, on November 14, the Moscow Department of Transport announced the end of the bike rental and electric scooter rental season. According to forecasters, a cold snap is expected in the capital, so the rental season is ending for safety reasons, said Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's deputy mayor for Transport.
